Our dynamic team works with your loved one in the provision of care. Our friendly, caring staff is also highly trained to assist with and provide all activities of daily living such as bathing, and dressing, as well as restorative therapies, wound prevention and care, fall reduction, dementia behavior management, and more.
Our staff is a dedicated team who enjoys serving our residents. You may find them dancing with residents at a talent show, dressed in costume for a fashion show, or talking individually with residents as part of the interactions they enjoy with the residents. Heather Pippen Executive Director
Heather Pippen, Executive Director, has been with Heritage Green since 2001. She oversees the overall operations of the two communities including ensuring excellence in care and services, customer satisfaction, public awareness, community involvement, fiscal soundness, regulatory compliance, and more. Heather also enjoys sharing her creativity with the residents when she participates in resident activities. She also enjoys being a wife and mother of two, and making home a special place.
Charlotte Dunlop Clinical Care Director, Assisted Living
Charlotte, Clinical Care Director in Assisted living since 2014, oversees the care of our assisted living residents. While in High School Charlotte volunteered as a Candy Striper in the same hospital where her mother was a nurse, so you may say she followed in her mother’s footsteps. Charlotte graduated from nursing school in 1999 and has experience in skilled care, long term care and assisted living. She especially loves being in the outdoors; camping, hiking, biking and kayaking are her passions, but most of all she cherishes spending time with her daughter, Heather. She has two spoiled little dachshunds Elsa and Max and boy are they spoiled!
Alice Waller, Clinical Care Director, Memory Care
Alice has been a nurse for 25 years. She brings a great deal of skill and experience in a variety of nursing settings, including dementia care, long term care, and restorative nursing. Dr. Peter Betz said, “You’ll have a hard time finding a better nurse.” She is invested in her residents and making sure all details of their care provide a high quality of life. On a personal note, Alice and her husband live in Brookneal and have a daughter, son, and a dog named Chico. Alice enjoys singing and acting and has been involved in local theater productions.
Sheryl Hunt Life Enrichment Director, Assisted Living
Sheryl Hunt Life Enrichment Director, Fields is a Lynchburg native who has been employed at Heritage Green since July 2012. She began as activities assistant at Daybreak. As a young girl Sheryl enjoyed spending time with the elderly in her community and running errands to the store for them. Her love for the elderly has helped her to be successful in serving here at Heritage Green. She has two grandchildren, Makala and Edward, known on the football field as Speedy. Sheryl enjoys cooking, family time, some sports, and has a passion for spreading the word of God. Sheryl’s goal is to be a positive influence in the life of residents and staff that she works with.
Melody Thomas Business Office Director
Melody Thomas, Business Office Director since 2010, oversees the daily functions of the business office including Accounts Payable / Receivable, Human Resources, and Payroll. She is Married, has one daughter and one grandson. Melody and her husband have devoted more than 25 years to rescuing and placing abused and abandoned animals.
Clarissa Chapman Life Enrichment Director, DayBreak
Clarissa Chapman,“Coco” as she is known, DayBreak's Life Enrichment Director, is a Lynchburg native who has worked at Heritage Green since 2007. Her many outside interests and love for the residents make her successful in her position. She has three grown children, David, Warren, and Heaven. Coco enjoys cooking, reading, sightseeing, outdoor activities and her dog Jake. In addition to directing the DayBreak Life Enrichment Program, Coco also schedules the van and driver for all resident doctor appointments and outings.
Thomas Bland Dining Services Director
Thomas Bland, Dining Services Director Since 2013, moved to Lynchburg in 1998 after attending Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. While there he obtained two degrees; one in Culinary Arts and one in Food Service Management. Since moving to Lynchburg, he has managed four different full service restaurants in the city and has worked with employees to pass along his passion for a great guest experience for everyone he serves. Tom and his wife have four young children, two boys and two girls, and loves spending time with his family. Emily Young Admissions and Marketing Director
Emily Young, Admissions and Marketing Director since 2014, works hard to bring new residents to our communities. Emily began working with seniors as a companion while she was in graduate school, and now uses her education to continue helping seniors find a great place to live! Emily enjoys helping families navigate through the stressful decision making process of finding care for their loved ones. She and her husband, Paul have been married since 2013 and enjoy going to the movies and traveling to new places.
Erica Norberg, Director of Rehab, Genesis Rehab Services
Erica has been at Heritage Green with Genesis Rehab Services since 2008. She is a Lynchburg native who lives with her two spoiled cats, Amethyst and Gryffon. Erica graduated from Virginia Tech in 2004 with a B.S. in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise, and from Jefferson College of Health Sciences in 2008 with an Associates in Applied Sciences degree to practice as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. Erica’s passion is to help the community and the residents of Heritage Green achieve their maximum physical independence through therapy services and Genesis programing, such as Vitality, Balance in Action, Falling Star, Compass, and Come Find Me.
Heather Sitton, Associate Director of Marketing
Heather Sitton, Associate Director of Marketing began working at Heritage Green in 2013. She enjoys working with the residents and getting to know their families. She loves her job and helping make the transition to Heritage Green as easy as possible for each resident. Heather recently got married and she has two teenage children.
Tommy Francis, Environmental Services Director
Tommy worked for an electrical company for 10 years before transferring to a local skilled care where he worked for the past four years before joining Heritage Green. He loves interacting with residents and knows that it doesn't take much to make someone smile. "I love making sure each resident's stay is a great one," Tommy said. Outside of Heritage Green Tommy loves hunting, being outdoors, and spending time with his dog, Romeo.
